Sharon E. Sheridan

Sharon Elaine Sheridan (nee Smith), 87, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 at her home at Asbury Towers in Greencastle, Indiana.

Sharon was born on May 30, 1935 in Muncie, Indiana to Bill & Helen Smith.  She spent the majority of her early life in the Muncie/Middletown area and moved to Greencastle to spend her final years closer to family.

She was an avid reader and devoured books more quickly than you can imagine.  Sharon especially loved reading and studying the mafia and was a wealth of information on that subject.  

There was nothing that Sharon treasured more than time spent with family and friends.  She was always the life of any party and her quick wit could keep any room full of people rolling with laughter.   

Sharon is survived by her brother, Jay Smith; her daughter and son-in-law, Katy and Bill Cavanagh; her son and daughter-in-law Steve and Julie Sheridan; her five granddaughters, Amanda Edwards, Drew Landis, Jesse Maas, Molly Sheridan and Hailey Cavanagh; her four great grandchildren, Addison Nelson, Hunter Landis, Kolt Landis, and Mila Maas; along with many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, October 7 from 2 – 4 pm at Whitaker Funeral Home, 201 North Lafayette Street, Cloverdale, IN 46120.  Memorial Service will follow visitation at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations may be made to the Dr. Hans N. Sheridan Leadership Scholarship Fund at Wayne High School, 9100 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819.  Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfuneralhome.net.
