Robert "Bob" E. Parent

Robert E. “Bob” Parent, of Eminence, IN passed away March 8th, 2023. Bob was born September 15th, 1937 in Lafayette, IN to Harry Parent and Anna Gerrity Parent Craig, both deceased. He was raised by his grandparents, Eugene and Susie Gerrity, in Pine Village, IN from the age of 2.

At the age of 18 Bob enlisted and proudly served in the US Army, traveling throughout Europe as a member of the US Army Pistol and Rifle Team, where he won numerous awards and medals.

He married his wife, Donna Sebanc Parent, on August 22, 1964 and she survives. Also surviving are daughter, Wendy Cuiksa (Mike) of Terre Haute; granddaughter, Bethany Cuiksa of Kansas City, KS; sister-in-law, Sally Humphrey; niece, Darcy Humphrey (Fiance Eric Faulkner) all of New Smyrna Beach, FL and extended family. He is predeceased by mother-in-law, Muriel “Babe” Sebanc; father-in-law, John Sebanc Jr and brother-in-law, John Sebanc III.

Bob was a member of the Eminence Baptist Church and was a past president of the Eminence Lions Club. He was a NASCAR fan before NASCAR became popular and a lifelong Purdue Boilermaker fan. He owned and drove semis over 30 years. Bob loved all cats and was never without one on his lap. They will miss him, especially Cookie who chose Bob to be her person.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on March 14th, 2023 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, IN. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday March 15th,  2023 at Shumaker Cemetery, Eminence, IN with Jeff Brewer officiating.
