Paula Vardaman Obituary

Paula Rae (McClure, Kaufman) Vardaman passed from this world on February 5, 2022 at her home in Old Town, Florida.  Paula, born in 1952, is the daughter of Curtis and Mildred McClure.  She is their 2nd child of five with four brothers; Gerald (Jerry) McClure, Perry McClure, Wesley McClure, and Hobie McClure.  She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and many uncles and aunts, along with her brothers Perry and Hobie.

Paula was a Mother!  Biologically she is the mother of Steven Kaufman, Christopher Kaufman, and Amberly (Kaufman) Manion.  Emotionally she was the mother and caregiver of many.  Her door was always open to anyone in need of help.  She believed people on their word and would give them all that she had… until you lied to her.

Paula is a grandmother of eight; Bailey Martin, Noah Kaufman, Harley (Manion) Young, Emma Manion, Maximus Kaufman, Emmett Manion, Jacob Kaufman, and Jude Kaufman, and a great grandmother to Asher Ray Allen Stevens, but they all, and many others, just called her Mam.  It was a name they chose for her.

Paula was a person of character who loved animals.  She was well known for her chickens, goats, pot bellied pigs, dogs, or any other animal she could provide for on her petting zoo of a farm. Many children have fond memories of her and her animals.

She always had an extra seat to give someone a ride.  She always had a smile, a comforting tone, and a lesson to share.  She told us to work hard and never to pay someone to do work that you can do yourself.

For over 20 years Paula delivered the mail for the Cloverdale Community.  Although her first day was nearly her last due to a serious wreck.  Thanks to Mary she went back to work the next day.  She eventually recruited her daughter and brother to join her there.

Mam will be missed.

Saturday at Faith Baptist Church in Cunot, come and celebrate the life and legacy of Paula.  A viewing will be held from 1-3 pm Saturday February 12, 2022 with funeral services to follow.  Immediately following the service, Paula will then be taken to her final resting place at Cloverdale Cemetery.  Food will be served back at the church’s fellowship hall following a brief graveside service.
