Mary Marguerite (Sanderson) Barnes

Mary Marguerite Barnes passed away at one hundred five years old on January 14, 2023 at Owen Valley Nursing Home.  Marguerite was preceded in death by her father Walter C. Sanderson, her mother Ethie M. Sanderson, her brothers Estes and William Sanderson and her husband Owen Barnes.  Marguerite is survived by her son, Victor Barnes, her grandchildren Stacy Tucker and her husband Brad Tucker, Tracy McBride and her husband the late Tim McBride, Chad Receveur and Trisha Barnes and her fiancé Scott Husler, as well as her great grandchildren Brady Tucker and his wife Mira Tucker, Mitchell McBride and his fiancé Katie Hammett, Mathew McBride and Aydin Receveur.  When Marguerite was not helping to run the farm she enjoyed gardening, taking nature walks, sewing/quilting, baking her delicious pies and going to church on Sundays.  The good Lord called her home to be reunited with her beloved husband and family.  Marguerite will be missed as a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Friend and priceless member of her community.  We were privileged to have her with us as long as we did.  We love you and we will miss you.  Sympathy flowers may be sent to Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale, IN or in lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity close to Marguerite’s heart, The Red Cross.  Family and friends are invited to come and say goodbye to Marguerite at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale, IN on Friday January 20, 2023 at 1 p.m. for the viewing followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfuneralhome.net
