James E. Money

James E. Money, age 80 of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord February 24th, 2022.  He was born January 9th, 1942 in Indianapolis to the late Ora Money and Grace (Hawkins) Witte.  He married Penny (Cox) Money June 13th, 1976 and she survives. 

Jim was a devoted Christian. The start of everyday was with him being in the Word and before the day was done friends and family were blessed with devotionals or special sayings. He wrote a series of seven Christian novels he felt were God inspired. He loved nature which influenced him to learn wood carving. His artistic pieces included several hummingbirds, a wren and a bounty of flowers created from twigs of wood displayed in colorful bouquets. Jim was a 1960 graduate of Danville High School and enjoyed a lifetime of comradely with his school mates gathering year after year for fellowship and remembrances. Even when life brought health challenges his daily walks were rarely missed. In his younger years he learned to fly. The sky and the heavens in flight were where he could touch the hand of God and he cherished those times and all those who would ‘talk planes’. Jim loved Jesus, family and friends and while he has left us briefly, his love never will.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children James E. Money II and his wife Laurie, Jennifer L. Money and husband Stephen Haag.  Grandchildren, Mackenzi D. Becker, Peyton Q. Becker, Keith T. Money, Madison N. Haag, and Evan T. Haag.  Sister, Barbara J. Fuller.  Services for Jim will be held Saturday, March 5th, 2022 at 12:00pm, Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.  Visitation will be held from 10:00am until service time.  Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfuneralhome.net.
