James Radford Andrews age 75, passed away March 26th, 2022 at home surrounded by family. He was
born September 27th, 1946 in Franklin Kentucky to the late Sara A. (Draper) and Wesley R. Andrews.
He is loved and survived by his wife of 40 years Mary A. (Uhl) Andrews, his sister Bonnie Shuffitt (Frank),
3 daughters and a son Kimberley C. George (Kevin), Kelly S. Hamlin (John), James B. Andrews (Melinda)
and honorary daughter Michelle D. Eversole, nine grandchildren Beverley-Ann N. George, Phillip M. C.
George, Ashley N. Hamlin, John T. Hamlin, Bradley M. Andrews (Bri), James M. Andrews, JudeAnn G.
Andrews, Gaibrelle Stockrahm and Micheal R. Eversole and seven Great grandchildren Brenton W.
Cooper, Kaydin M. George, Ivy-Jean A. Coon, Marli M. George, Addalynn R. Coon, Gauge Coon and soon
to be baby boy in April that he was given earlier access to his name.
He was a breakman for Conrail and CSX and retired as an engineer. He and Mary were the owner
operators of Wild Wings Sporting Clays, he liked to shoot, hunt and loved being a hobby farmer. He was
known by many names over the years, J.R. mostly by railroad co-workers, James, Jim, by the handle Dr.
Pepper for over 50 years on the CB radio and especially Radford by his momma, daddy, family and lovingly
called bubby by his sister.
Funeral services for James will be at 7:00 pm Friday April 1st, 2022 at Whitaker Funeral Home, visitation
will be from 4:00 pm until the service time of 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers
memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors Paralyzed Veterans of Indiana. Entombment will be at 11:00 am Saturday April 2nd, 2022 at Forest Lawn Cemetery on135 in Greenwood.
