Jackie R. Durnil

Jackie R. Durnil, age 87, passed away on July 18, 2026. He was born in Livonia, Indiana, to the late Wesley and Rosetta (Mulvany) Durnil.  He married Patricia F. (Bowman) Durnil on October 10, 1981, and she survives. Jackie was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War in the Special Forces, and was an avid outdoorsman and competitive shooter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-son, Lonnie R. Meek and wife Julia; grandchildren Dana Renee,

Olivia A. Meek, and Alona J. Carnes and husband Hunter; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Michael Durnil and wife Grace, and Marvin Durnil and wife Lois. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by Carl Durnil, Darrell Durnil, Clyde Durnil, Hazel, Ruby, Dorothy, Wilma, Anna, Edith, and Linda Lou.

Funeral services for Jackie will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held from noon until service time.  Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfunerals.net.
