Harold "Red" H. Smith Jr.

Harold "Red" H. Smith Jr., age 98, passed away July 23rd, 2026. He was born in Owen County February 4th, 1928 to the late Harold H. Smith Sr. and Eva M. (Hart) Smith. He married Maxine O. (Cassida) Smith January 21st, 1951 and preceded him in death March 31st, 2019. He was a farmer for many years and served his country in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his son Ron Smith and wife Melanie, grandchildren Haley Smith and Nick Smith, Jesse Smith, Jaimi Smith, and two great-grandchildren. Siblings, Michael L. Smith and Ellen Davies. As well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his son Stanley L. Smith, and siblings Max Smith, Joe Smith, Elvin (Epp) Smith, and LaVaughn Patten.

Funeral Services for Red will be held Saturday, August 1st at 10:00am, Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held Friday, July 31st from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mannan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cloverdale Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfunerals.net.
