Fredrick McCammon Obituary

Fredrick C. McCammon, Jr, age 63 of Cloverdale passed away Saturday January 6, 2024.

He was born on July 15, 1960 to the late Fredrick C. McCammon, Sr. and Meriam A. (Haslet) Miller, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In his youth, Freddie participated in many sports and clubs and made countless friends. He spent his teen years in between Cloverdale and Mississippi, graduating from Hernando High School in 1979.

A true modern Renaissance man, he was a talented artist and musician, spending his time learning to play the ukulele, and most recently the kalimba. He enjoyed painting and crafting alone and alongside friends and family. In the warm seasons you could find him on the porch strumming his ukulele, watching the flowers grow, and Ping playing.

During his life, he had many accomplishments including State Championships in Bocce in 2002, as well was being a member of the Owen County Lumberjacks, bringing home the title as State Champion of the Crosscut Saw in 1990. And by continuing to live on and inspire many by being an example of strength and kindness through many trials and adversity.

Freddie brought a love of life, adventure and knowledge to everyone that knew him, and had the ability to share that feeling with all, he will be dearly missed by many people from all walks of life.

Freddie is survived by his daughters Ashlee (Brett) Burnham of Cloverdale, Holly McCammon of Salt Lake City, UT; brother Mark (Rhonda) McCammon of Cloverdale, grandchildren Lane Burnham and Anna Burnham.  Nephew Kyle (Christina) McCammon, Neice Kristin (Eric) Kukman. Sister Dara (John) Campbell of Jacksonville, Fl. Stepmother Rose McCammon of Hernando MS. Beloved companion Gail Davis of Cloverdale, as well as many beloved cousins, great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son Fredrick Robert McCammon, welcoming him home with open arms.

A celebration of life for Freddie will be held at a later date. Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfuneralhome.net
