Dorman Lee Owen

              Dorman Lee Owen, age 80 of Reelsville went to be with the Lord November 9th, 2019 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born in Kentucky November 19th, 1938 to the late William and Nancy (Perry)Owen.  He married Juanita C. (Phelps) Owen in 1961 and she preceded him in death July 12th, 2014.  He devoted 50 years of service to Washington Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. and district 11 B in the I.V.F.A..  He served his country in the Army in Korea 1956-1958.  He worked at the Zinc Mill until they relocated out of state and retired from DePauw University in 2000.  He spent 20 years of service with the Reelsville Water Authority for several years as a board member.

                He is survived by his children Nancy A. Richardson, Donald W. Owen, Joan Barnett and husband Bruce.  Grandchildren Heather Nelson, Sam Richardson, Andrea(Brandon) Mescall, Alisha (Brandon) Buchanan, Nick Owen, Jesse Owen, and Marley Owen.  Great Grandkids Macy Lee and Kori Rae Mescall, and Paislee Rae Buchanan with another on the way.  Siblings Tom Owen, Brenda(Gary) Terrell, and Janie(Bob) Harris.  Also, several Nieces and Nephews.

                In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his daughter Margaret Lee Owen.  Siblings Faye Hull, David Owen(Gloria) and their daughter Wendy, and Jimmy Owen.

                Services will be held Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 at 7:00pm, Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.  Visitation will be from 4:00pm until service time.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Washington Twp.
