Charles J. Birnell

Charles J. Birnell, age 84 of Cloverdale, passed away August 28th, 2026.  He was born December 18th, 1941 in Walton, Indiana at home to the late Clarence C. and Sara M. Birnell.  He married Linda Sue Birnell and she preceded him in death November 26th, 2008.  He was a hunter, fisherman, a self made woodworker, and overall a outdoorsman. 

He is survived by his children James Bubb and wife Ronda, Tommy Birnell and wife Ophelia, Tonya Rivers and husband James, Terry Birnell, and Donny Stout and wife Lori.  He had fourteen grandchildren, and blessed with multiple great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his children Wendy Branham, Tom Bubb, Robert Bubb, and his siblings.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 at 2:00pm, Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.  Visitation will be held from 12:00pm noon until service time.  Burial will follow at the Cloverdale Cemetery.  Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfunerals.net.
