Andrew J. Nees

Andrew J. Nees, age 15 of Cloverdale went to be with the Lord Saturday June 27th, 2020.  He was born January 26th, 2005 in Greencastle to Michael and Jamie (Rose)Nees. 

 In addition to his parents he is survived by his siblings Kelsey, Michaela, and Andrea Nees.  Grandparents John and Sandy Nees, and Ron Rose (Maryann).  Uncles and Aunts Brian(Becky) Nees, Shawn(Valerie) Nees, Angela(Charlie) Lee, Ryan(Jenna) Nees, Jesica(Matt) Dempsey, many cousins, family, and  friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Rose E. Rose

Andrew had a smile and laugh that lit up the room.  Andrew showed tremendous strength, courage, and determination as he fought his MEGDEL syndrome, a mitochondrial disease all of his life.  Andrew always amazed, as he was given a life expectancy of not making it to his fifth birthday; he inspired us everyday of his 15 years of being with us.  

Since Andrew was allergic to flowers and to help others in Putnam County In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cloverdale FFA Alumni Scholarship fund at any First National Bank location (Cloverdale) or the Mary Allison Children’s Trust, PO Box 369, Greencastle, IN 46135

 Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 1st, 2020 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday July 2th, 2020 at 11:00am with burial following at the Cloverdale Cemetery.  Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfuneralhome.net
