Max K. Nichols

Max Keith Nichols, 83, of Coatesville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018.

Born Oct. 17, 1934 , he was the son of the late Earl and Nellie (Heavin) Nichols.

Max married Jackie Stevens, the love of his life, on June 16, 2006. She's a gospel singer from Muncie who travels nationwide.

Max enjoyed the years of being a farmer, and serving on several boards in Greencastle and Putnam County.

He was also a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Max is survived by his wife, Jackie. Max has two children, son Jason Nichols, Duluth, Ga., and daughter Joyce Bowser, Brownsburg; and was a father to Jackie's girls, Teresa Hargis and Darla Andrews, both of San Antonio, Texas, and Lana Chandler Greenfield, Tenn. Also surviving are sisters Shelby Spencer and Waneta Gray; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and Jackie's six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Clifford Nichols, Verlin Nichols, Kendall Nichols and Charles Nichols; and sisters Wanda Evans and Vivian Nichols.

Funeral services for Max will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 6 from 4-8 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home.
