Lynn (Sills) Leach

February 16, 1948 ~ October 23, 2017 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Lynn Sills Leach, 69, of Clawson, MI, formerly of Indianapolis, has gone to her heavenly home on October 23, 2017. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

She was born to the late Millard Mack Sills, Jr. and Betty Frances Blair, a Steel Warehouse Supervisor and Homemaker respectively, in Indianapolis, IN at the Methodist Hospital on February 16, 1948. She was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She enjoyed reading her Bible daily.
She attended schools in Indianapolis (the former Wanamaker Elementary and Susan Roll Leach Elementary – School #68 and Arsenal Technical High School, graduating with the Class of 1966.
She worked downtown for the Indiana Bell Telephone Company and L. S. Ayres, after her high school graduation. In 1967, her Dad was promoted at work and moved the family to Dayton, OH, where she got a job working the candy counter at the dime store, F. W. Woolworth in the local Shopping Center, Miracle Lane. She then found a better job downtown working at the Gift Wrap counter at the upscale store Elder Beerman’s.  
Where she met her future husband, Danny Ray Leach, Sr., who was in the United States Airforce, at the time. They married on April 30, 1969, in the Chapel on Wright Patterson Airforce Base in Fairborn, OH. From that union she had a son, Danny Ray Leach, Jr. and a daughter, Robin Danielle Leach. 
She loved to read, knit, crochet, bird watch, bowl, Mah Jong games with friends, Scrabble and gardening. She was a faithful fan of the CBS soap opera series, the Young and the Restless & Bold and the Beautiful for many years. She also was a fan of several medical and police dramas.
She moved to Michigan in 1977. First, she lived in Ferndale, then Berkley, Center Line and Clawson. She was a member of Berkley Community Church for many years and acted as their loyal Music Secretary, for their choir. In 2002, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. She had beat it and survived 15 more years, in remission.
She was predeceased by her parents, son, Danny Ray Leach, Jr. at 23 days old. Her ex-husband, Danny Ray Leach, Sr.
She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Creator. Lynn is survived by her Aunt Virginia L. Edison of Indianapolis, IN; Step Mom, Nancy L. (nee Kreager) Sills, of Berkley, MI; a Brother, Mack (Carol) Sills, of Hayward, CA; a Sister, Linda K. (Randy J.) Redwood of Ferndale, MI; her Daughter, Robin Leach of Hillsdale, MI; a Nephew, Brandon Mack (Brittany) Sills of Suisun City, CA; her 20 year old cherished Cat, Cali Rose; her two attentive, loving and devoted CNA Caretakers, Cathi Nassar and Tanikka King; and several cousins scattered all over the world.
Funeral services for Lynn will be at 11:00 am Sunday October 29, 2017 at Whitaker Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time.
Lynn will be laid to rest in the Cloverdale Cemetery in Cloverdale, IN. Her arrangements are being handled by Whitaker Funeral Home on Lafayette in Cloverdale, in.
