Beatrice Kathryn (DeWeese) Wade

Beatrice Kathryn (DeWeese) Wade passed away on November 23, 2019.  Born April 11, 1921, in Fillmore, 
Indiana to the parents of Raymond & Kathryn (Nauman) Deweese.  She was a 1939 graduate of Lockland 
High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She and her husband Malcolm E. Wade were married July 27, 1940, in 
Cincinnati, Ohio.  He deceased March 29, 2011 after 70 years and 8 months of marriage.  Bea graduated 
from Approved University of Beauty Culture in Indianapolis, IN, in December 1954, operating her own 
beauty shop in Fillmore, IN for over 30 years.  She was a member of Fillmore United Methodist Church 
and a past 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star of which she was a past Worthy Matron.  She 
and her husband resided in Avon, IN, at Prestwick for over 20 years.  Survivors include: Two daughters 
and two son-in laws, Darla Kay & her husband David Rhind, and Sue Kay & her husband Danny St. John.  
Four grandchildren & spouses, Brent St.John & Casey, Brad St. John & Tommie, Deanna Kay (Thomas) 
Marek & David, and Douglas Thomas.  Bea had thirteen great grandchildren and four great-great 
grandchildren.  Visitation will be held this Wednesday, November 27 at Whitaker Funeral Home, 
Cloverdale, IN from 10-11am with a funeral service at 11am.  Burial will be in Fillmore Cemetery.  Flowers 
are welcome or donations can be made in Bea’s memory to the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 255, 
814 Sherwood Dr, Greencastle IN 46135.
