Keller, 87, Greencastle, passed away on January 19, 2010 at Clarian Health/Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born on June 17, 1922 in Putnam County, Indiana and was the daughter of the late James Quinton and Anna Grace [McAninch] Smedley. She was married to Howard B. Keller on April 1, 1958 and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2003. She had served as the activity director for Sunset Manor Nursing Home and an aide at the Putnam County Hospital. She was a member of the New Providence Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Pastor Harvey Stringer officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the New Providence Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Dixie L. Turner and husband Michael D., Greencastle, Roxie Hodge Swartz and husband Bob, Forney, TX, Jim Hodge and wife Patty, St. George, UT, Howard Hodge, St. George, UT and Chuck Hodge, Charleston, SC; sister Helen Josephine Miller, Greencastle, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jewell Leonard Smedley, Morris “Jum” Smedley, Albert Eugene Smedley and her step-mother Hattie B. Smedley.
