Charles H. Rhea, 88, Eminence, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Miller’s Merry Manor at Mooresville. He was born on December 19, 1920 in Morgan County, Indiana and was the son of the late Elva Sligar and Hallie Belle [Dorsett] Rhea.
He was a 1938 graduate of Eminence High School, member of the Eminence Christian Church, Eminence, a 68 year member of Local # 841 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Masonic Lodge # 440, F. & A. M., Eminence, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, O. E. S. # 546, Eminence, Hurst-Collins Post # 281, American Legion, Cloverdale and was one of the founders of the Eminence Youth League. He was a WW II veteran having served in the U. S. Army.
He married Emma Lou Warmouth on December 23, 1950 and she survives. He is also survived by his children; Rita F. Cross and husband Brian, Stilesville, Renee R. Ratliff and husband Brian, Eminence, Rex R. Rhea and wife Martha, Eminence, Russ R. Rhea and wife DeDee, Eminence and Royce R. Rhea and wife Terri, Eminence, 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 25 at 11:00 AM at the Stilesville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Fern Mattox.
