Mary Anne Mikolaitis Rubeck 96, Poland, Indiana passed away on February 9th 2017 at home. Born in Terre Haute August 21, 1920 to Julian John and Agnes (Bostas) Mikolaitis.
At six years of age her parents moved the family to the Center Point area. She attended Kindergarten at Demming School, grade school at Longnecker School, High School at Ashboro. She married Oran Rubeck on Oct. 1, 1940.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to many. Mary was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting, gardening, trying out new restaurants, camping with the camping group, and visiting their Amish friends. A member of Tri-County Community Club for 64 years and an honorary member afterwards. Member of Jordan Presbyterian Church until they closed, then a member of The Zion United Church of Christ. Oran and Mary formerly owned, “Rubeck Sawmill”.
Survived by husband Oran, two sons Ronald (Evelyn) Rubeck, Jerry Rubeck of Poland, IN. One daughter, Sharon (Joe) Swank, Mapleton, ILL.. Seven grandchildren: Rhonda (Robert) Tincher, Tonnie (Deborah) Rubeck, Kevin Rubeck, Scott (Carol) Swank, Elaine (Jason) Bain, Matthew (Sarah) Swank, Sabrina ( Aaron) Wilson. Great-grandchildren: Mickey (Crystal) Tincher, Hannah (Jim) Shrum, Trent Tincher, Wayne (Brittany) Rubeck, Daphne(Mark) Rutenberg, Alesha Daniels, JayAnn and Aubree Youngblood, McKenzie Wilson, Michaela, Issak and Madeline Bain, Wesley and Eleanor Swank. Great-great grandchildren, June and Silas Shrum, Austin, Erin, and Brady Rubeck, Peyton and Deborah Daniels , Lucas Siebers and baby Tincher due in April.
Preceded in death by her parents, baby brother John, sister Helen Mikolaitis, daughter-in-law Judy Rubeck, and many friends.
Visitation will be held at Zion United Church of Christ Saturday February 18th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm with funeral at 3:00pm Pastor Wes McClure will officiate.
