Jerry Schuleter, 69, Cloverdale, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2009 while tending to his beloved property. Jerry was born in Seward, NE on Marcy 17, 1940 and was the son of the late Leonard and Maryanna [Ost] Schlueter. He loved working on his land, fishing and hunting. More that anything, he loved spending time with his family and taking care of “his girls”. Everyone that knew Jerry enjoyed his stories and love for life. He was a generous man and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jackie [Confar] Schlueter; daughters Christy Terry and husband Steve, Spencer and Kelly Newby and husband Craig, Cloverdale; granddaughters Ruthanne and Rebecca Terry, Madison and Alexa Newby; sister, Jane Smith and husband Gene, Lincoln, NE; brothers, Don and wife Judy, Detroit, MI, Stan, Seward, NE and Bob and wife Angie of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 4:00 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale with Chaplain Judy Schlueter officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the US Navy, member of VFW Post #1550, Greencastle, past president of the South Central Optimist Club, Pheasants Forever and was a Certified Tree Farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Mary Schlueter and a great nephew Romondo Undray Lewis, Jr.
