He was born on January 20, 1949 in San Diego, California and was the son of Albert Fred Hammons and Alta Agnus (Hollowell] Hammons. He was a truck driver, veteran of the United State Army during the Vietnam Conflict and a member of American Legion Post # 145, Avon and the American Legion Riders. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Cloverdale Cemetery, Cloverdale, Indiana with Pastor Lyman Taylor officiating. He is survived by his father, Albert Fred Hammons, daughter Melanie Mendyka; sister, Linda Morgan and husband Dennis; brothers, Larry Hammons and Leslie Hammons and wife Lynn; sister-in-law, Kathy Hammons and 1 grandchild.
