Gray, 77, Greencastle, passed away August 28, 2009 at his residence. He was born on August 21, 1932 in Brown County, Indiana and he was the son of the late Louis Garfield and Mabel Maude [Hines] Gray. He married Waneta May [Nichols] Gray on June 13, 1952 and she survives. He was a farmer and a member of the New Providence Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale with Pastor Tim Mathews officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Clinton Falls Cemetery. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Luella Mills and husband Christopher, Terre Haute and Louis Alfred Gray, Greencastle; sisters – Delpha Oliver, Nashville and Nellie Fox, Reelsville; brothers – Richard “Bud” Gray and wife Donna, Greencastle and Robert Gray and wife Carol, Cloverdale and 6 grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Gray and brothers Carl Nathan “Jack” Gray and Samuel Gray.
