Cooper, 89, Greencastle, formerly of Cloverdale, passed away on August 18, 2009 at the Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle. She was born on January 26, 1920 in Putnam County, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Clarence Orestes and Cora May [Young] Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Amity Baptist Church, Cloverdale. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11:00am at the Cloverdale Cemetery, Cloverdale, with Rev. Steve Blades, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be private. Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery at Cloverdale, Indiana. She is survived by her children: Carolyn Mann, Cloverdale and James A. [Jim] Cooper and wife Wanda, Gosport; half-sister – Eva Jean Shaw, Crete, IL; step-sisters – Doris Tharp, Greencastle and Betty Jones, Houston, TX; step-brother-Lester Sutherlin, Port Orange, FL, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother – Lucy Sutherlin Davis, brothers – Melvin Floyd Davis and Richard Davis, step-sisters – Virginia Walker and Imogene Wrightsman, and step-brothers – Norman Sutherlin and Arnold Sutherlin.
