Raymond E. Linneman, 88, Cataract, passed away on July 12, 2009 at his residence. He was the son of the late William F. and Ruth A. [Price] Linneman and was born on January 17, 1921 at Logansport, Indiana.
He was married to Norma Carol [Swafford] Linneman, on December 15, 1940 at Logansport, Indiana in the Christian Church and she survives.
Raymond worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Indianapolis for forty-one years as a conductor and he co-owned, with his wife Norma, the Corner Cupboard Antique Shop for twenty-one years. Raymond and Norma moved to Cataract in 1973.
Raymond retired from railroad in 1980 and from his antique business in 1985.
He was a member of the Cataract Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge # 132, F. & A. M., Cloverdale.
He is survived by his wife Norma, his children, Carol K. Linneman, Gresham OR and Larry Linneman and wife Ellie, Cataract; 4 grandchildren - Robin Rand, Cape Coral, FL, Brittney Basore and husband Kenny, Cataract, Scott Schrein and wife Noelle of Happy Valley, OR and Mel Schrein of Poway, CA; 6 grandchildren – Kayleigh, Ashlynn, Kyndell and Maridianne Basore, Joshua and Shelby Schrein.
Ray will always be remembered as a dedicated and loving family man and a true gentleman.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Pastor Jerry Huber and Pastor Robert Yount officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Washington Park Cemetery at Indianapolis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Glenn Linneman.
