She was born on May 16, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Henry Lee and Alma Eleanor [Farris] Stockdale. She was married to Harold Leroy Carney on June 15, 1951 and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1979. She was a retired assembler for Western Electric in Indianapolis and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Cloverdale. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Pastor Wes McClure officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery. She is survived by her children; Nancy Schopmeyer and husband Ron, Cloverdale and David H. Carney, Cloverdale; sisters – Evelyn Stockdale, Swartz Creek, MI and Yuvonne Crook and husband Bill, Lakeland, FL; brothers – Hobart Stockdale and wife Norma, Indianapolis and Norman Stockdale, Indianapolis, 6 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Allen Carney; sisters – Virginia Stockdale, Marie Stockdale, Doris Lee Stockdale, Lucille Mitchell; brothers – Wayne and Eugene Stockdale and great-granddaughter – Haley Nicole Carney.
