Judge Noble Keith “Bo Jack” Littell, 88, Sebring, FL, formerly of Martinsville and Eminence, Indiana, passed away on April 10, 2009 at his residence in Sebring. He was born in Eminence on May 21, 1920, and was the son of the late Oran Clarence and Lina Cordelia [Hood] Littell.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church in Martinsville, Indiana with Masonic Memorial Services at 7:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, Indiana, with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Walters Cemetery at Eminence, Indiana.
He was an attorney and was a former Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Morgan County from 1954 to 1960. He was elected to the Indiana State Legislature in 1960 and to the Morgan County Superior Court bench in 1962, 1966 and 1970. He was a member of the Sebring Christian Church, Masonic Lodge #440, F. & A. M., Eminence, O. E. S. #546, Eminence, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Murat Temple, Society of Descendants of Washington’s Army at Valley Forge, past National Judge Advocate General and he was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Force during WW II.
Noble was a founder of, and served as first secretary for, the family association. He compiled One Hundred Men, A Legislative History of Morgan County, Indiana; One Hundred Years: A Masonic History of Eminence, Indiana; and other publications.
He earned a BA degree at Central Normal College, Danville, Indiana in 1940; a JD at Indiana University School of Law and a master’s degree at the University of Southern Mississippi. He retired in 1989 and has devoted most of his time to travel and genealogy since that date.
He married Dorothy Ann Hyatt on May 1, 1954 and she was the mother his first three children. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2001.
On February 29, 1964 he married Sandra Gladys Kiser and she survives. Also surviving are his children; Jacqueline Kay Shields and husband William D., Martinsville, IN; Douglas Kent Littell, Martinsville, IN; Michael Keith Littell, Heltonville, IN; step-children – Beverly Ann Branam and Robert Edward Branam, both of Sebring, Fl, nephew – Dennis Dwight Littell, Cincinnati, OH, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
