She was born in Greencastle on October 13, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Maynard C. and Ivy Bell [Dillinger] Johnson. She married Robert D. Chiles on July 10, 1949 and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2007. She was a homemaker and member of the New Providence Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Pastor Murray Clugston officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her daughters; Kathy Annette Wallace and husband Paul, North Forest, IN; Deborah Sue Gould and husband Francis, Cloverdale; Bobbie Jean Hamilton and husband David, AL and Sandra Dee Monett and husband Philip, Reelsville; 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great-granddaughter. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by his sisters Evelyn Beck, Pauline Elizabeth Smythe Cochran and Edith Lucille Nicholls.
