Philip A. Pittman, 69, Cloverdale, passed away on June 22, 2010 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born on February 13, 1941 in Jasonville, Indiana and was the son of the late Martian Pittman and Naomi {Stone} Pittman Arthur.
He married Carolyn S. Denton on September 5, 1959. He was a loving husband of 50 years, Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather.
He retired from General Motors/Chevrolet Truck and Bus after 43 years where he was an electrician. He was a member of the Indianapolis Lodge # 669, F. & A. M., Indianapolis Valley of The Scottish Rite, Murat Temple A.A.O.M.S. and the Murat Gatling Gun Club.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. Ross Kirkman officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Peavey Cemetery at Howesville, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pittman, Cloverdale, two daughters, Sheila Wright and friend David McCarter, Brazil and Sheryl Reed, Cloverdale, one son/grandson, Curtis Deem, Cloverdale, four Grandchildren and eleven Great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
