Douglas P. Lane, 67, Cloverdale, passed away on May 3, 2010 at the Putnam County Hospital. He was born on July 6, 1942 in Muncie, Indiana and was the son of the late Leroy and Marion [Preston] Lane.
He was a truck driver for USF Holland and a member of the Eminence Baptist Church and Teamsters Local # 135, Indianapolis. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his wife, Christine L. [Maughan] Lane, Cloverdale, his children, Dianna Lane, Terre Haute, Debra White and husband Ken, Greencastle, Lori Hoffman, Carlisle, PA, Douglas P. Lane, Jr. and wife Donna, Louisville, KY, Lawrence Simpson and wife Cindy, Cloverdale and David Simpson and wife Sheila, Rushville, sister, Adria Reas and husband Bud, Evansville and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 7:30 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale with Rev. Sonny Ooley officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the funeral home.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Rodger Lane.
